I'm in LA!

"So where are all the movie stars?"

I left Atlanta today and arrived in LA with no problems. I was a little disappointed that there weren't movie stars walking around everywhere.

I got in contact with Sean Reidy, a friend from High School, who recently moved out here to LA. I am supposed to meet up tomorrow sometime with him, and he is going to show me around.

Today was more of a test to see how well I could wing it in a strange city. A city that I know nothing about. Keep in mind I am limited to the area that is within walking distance from my hotel. Here are my findings:

^I doubt many people pay with exact change^

^ This is the door to the restroom at a Burger King^
Apparently the hoodlums in LA like to target fast food restrooms.
(If you double-click the picture it is easier to read the sign)

^I'm glad I saw this sign before I started drinking from the sprinkler^

^I never knew one place could do so many random things^

Internet Quota

"What the heck is Internet Quota?"

So I had a webinar (web seminar) with AustraLearn last week and I was told that each student receives what is called "Internet Quota." I didn't think much of it at the time, but today I was getting a little curious as to what it is. My findings were not good...

Apparently Australia's Internet infrastructure is not as sophisticated as it is here in the States. Or at least it costs more over there. Whichever the case I am going to be given a quota that I am not supposed to exceed while attending James Cook University. Now I can purchase more if I want to, but I really don't have any idea how much I am going to be given or how much I normally use. While this is a little concerning, I'm sure I'll find a way to deal. Even if it means posting on my blog once a week rather than every few days.

You can read the whole article about Internet Quota I found by clicking HERE.

I guess the Internet is another thing we Americans take for granted.
